About the Artist

In the 80s, Carmen exhibits her painting (acrylic on canvas) in the IBEU, Triad, and Toulouse galleries.

In '89, she meets the Portuguese painter Maria Helena Vieira da Silva in Paris, and for an exhibition at Espace Latine Américain (Paris) the following year, Vieira da Silva writes about Carmen's work:

"If I had a space to build, to give it life, I would install Carmen's storms of color, the winds from all directions, the strange signs of the forests in the north of the country, the waterfalls, and the full moon nights. (March 1990)
